Who Is Chatty Crafty?

Miss Chatty Crafty – Miss Chatty is the hostess of all hostesses. She loves all things handmade and looks forward to her events as if they were her birthday, Christmas and Fourth of July all rolled into one. Miss Chatty loves the South, parties, dressing up, a well illustrated tattoo and a fine lettered invitation. She believes in making her guests, vendors and shoppers alike, feel like family – without the trip to the liquor store OR the therapist. Miss Chatty is also very involved with her community and passionate about giving back.

Lynda Buckels – Lynda has been creating longer than she can remember. From the rooms of her grandparent’s home she learned to tinker, to assemble and create. She also loves midcentury modern. A lot. Like, a lot, a lot. Always looking for an excuse for a midcentury purchase, ANY excuse, you cannot image her excitement over the thought of finding silver! aluminum! trees! right this very moment. Can you help a sister out? Because she finally found an excuse. She needs these trees, she needs them bad. Oh, and more knee-hugging elves. In case you haven’t noticed, Lynda has issues. Deep, deep issues. Oh, and she makes notebooks. Lots of notebooks and other items from discarded books. You can find her items here: AS!P

Having participated in handmade events all over, she became determined to bring the movement to Chattanooga – someone had to do it!

Heidi Monroe – Heidi is an event planner by trade, with a few film festivals and fundraisers under her belt. Having been raised by a third generation artist and the handiest of handimen, she can’t remember not feeling the compulsion to build, draw, and create. Heidi is drawn to indie craft as an expression of her parents’ combined passions. She is drawn to Chatty Crafty as a way to support both the handmade and buying local culture, something her political science background and family business has taught her to value.

Superpower: Ability to Turn Any Get-together Into an Event

Johnnie Stephens- Johnnie is a freshman at UTC who has a multitude of interests. Including, but not limited to, stories, imagining people complexly, nerdfighteria, adventure, Harry Potter, the power of language, memories, art, and the study of human existence. Her talents are as follows: Jeopardy, sarcasm, slipping strange pop culture references into casual conversation, pulling all nighters, and delegation. After a several years of being dragged to many, maaaannnnyyy, craft shows she finally began to take interest in Indie and DIY craft.. Maybe it’s real, maybe it’s a strange form of Stockholm’s Syndrome. Now for Chatty Crafty she gets to put all this together for the greater good of Indie and DIY craft in Chattanooga. Oh, and she likes plaid. All plaid.
